STAR Project – 7th Batch Mushroom Farming Training

Under the KPAD Fund of Rotary Club of Patan, the 7th batch of the STAR Project is conducting a 7-day Mushroom Farming Training for 15 participants, comprising persons with Down syndrome and their parents.

The STAR Project is a sustainable initiative of Rotary Club of Patan aimed at empowering Persons with Disabilities through practical vocational skills that can contribute to self-reliance, financial independence, and sustainable income generation. The project is being extended to different parts of Nepal to create meaningful livelihood opportunities for Persons with Disabilities.

The training is being implemented by Ability Development Society of Nepal (ADSoN), RCP’s implementing partner. The training is designed to equip both the participants and their parents with practical mushroom farming skills, enabling parents to provide continued support and guidance to their children in pursuing self-employment and income-generating activities. This family-inclusive approach aims to promote self-reliance, financial independence, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities.

With a total budget of NPR 40,000, the initiative demonstrates Rotary Club of Patan’s continued commitment to inclusive development, family participation, sustainable livelihoods, and economic empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
