Intra-School Chess Championship

The Interact Club of JMES, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Damak, successfully organised an Intra-School Chess Championship on 21 August 2026 at Jhapa Model English School (JMES), Damak. The championship was conducted in Junior and Senior categories, engaging more than 100 students in a competitive yet enriching sporting activity.

The tournament provided students with an opportunity to showcase their chess skills while developing strategic thinking, concentration, patience, decision-making, and sportsmanship. Five Rotarians were actively involved in supporting and facilitating the event, strengthening the partnership between Rotary and its Interact Club.

The Rotary Club of Damak fully sponsored the tournament, covering all expenses, including medals, certificates, prizes, and other tournament-related costs. This initiative reflects Rotary’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting meaningful extracurricular activities among students.

The championship concluded with an award distribution ceremony. Rtn. Sagar Shrestha, Rtn. Keshab Kumar Agrawal, and Rtn. Deepu Chapagain distributed awards to the deserving winners and participants, recognising their efforts and achievements.
