The AI Literacy Teachers Training Programme, under the AI4PEN – Artificial Intelligence for Public Education in Nepal initiative, was formally inaugurated on Friday at Kitini Secondary School, Godawari, Lalitpur. The programme aims to equip public-school teachers with knowledge and practical skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and enable them to use AI effectively, responsibly, and creatively in education.
The initiative is being implemented through a joint effort of the Rotary Club of Yala and Technology Partner Danson Solutions, in collaboration with Kitini Secondary School. The programme focuses on expanding access to AI education in public schools and preparing teachers for the rapidly evolving digital and AI-driven educational environment.

Under the AI4PEN pilot programme, 25 teachers will participate in a 40-hour structured training programme over 10 weeks, beginning 23 August 2026 (7 Bhadra 2083). The training will be conducted every Sunday.
The training will cover practical applications of AI in teaching and learning, including lesson planning, development of teaching and learning materials, productivity tools, responsible and safe use of AI, and the opportunities and challenges presented by AI in education.
The programme is expected to provide teachers and students with practical exposure to AI technologies and serve as a model for the future expansion of AI literacy in public schools across Nepal.
